Music Makes Life Better: Friends

One of the best benefits of playing music is the friends you meet!  I’m always surrounded by interesting and fun people in groups like the Monday Night Jam, music teacher’s associations, church choirs, music classes and many other musical activities.

One of my favorite music friends is Laura!

I met Laura during my graduate piano program at WSU.  We never had any classes together, but we quickly became good friends.  We played together in the Monday Night Jam, we taught piano classes together for a year to elementary school kids and we’ve played and performed tons of piano duets together.

Laura came to Tulsa for a visit last week, and it was only natural that we spent our time together sight reading piano duets.  It never seems to get old!  Here’s a little peek into our sight-reading fun:

First up is an arrangement of All Creatures of Our God and King by Philip Keveren.

Next is Norwegian Dance by Grieg, arranged by Weekley and Arganbright.
